Description

Amy’s opening story is “Crepe Paper Roses”, where she takes the listener back to when she made waxed crepe paper roses with her grandmother for Decoration Day. (“Whispering Hope” by Jo Northup accompanies her story.) Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Char Avrunin from Waynesville, a local visual artist who tells how faith played a part in why she paints. (“Give the World a Smile” by the Inspirations closes the segment.) On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy’s guest is Vicki Cruz from Cherokee. She shares stories from her Cherokee childhood and her work at Qualla Arts and Crafts. (“Armed Forces Medley” by the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra follows the interview.) On Apple Butter, Krista spends some time at the Sylva Farmer’s Market, interviewing three young women who are fellow “farmers.” (“Watermelon on the Vine” by Jim Greer concludes the segment.) Judy’s guest on Down Another Road is Vernon “Dusty” Rhodes from Asheville, who shares a story he called “Outfoxed at the Jot ‘um Down Store.” (“Lost Indian” by Vance Trull from Stecoah closes the segment.) The show concludes with “I’m Coming Back, But I Don’t Know When” by Hylo Brown.
