Description

The show begins with a special Mother’s Day story from Amy called “I’ll Be Loving You Always,” which is about her parents and their love for each other. “Always” accompanies the story. On Creative Corner, Doreyl's guest is Paul Lormand, Director of the Bardo Fine & Performing Arts Center at Western Carolina University. He talks about his background in the performing arts and the work he does as director. The interview is followed by “Forked Deer” by David Holt. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is Barry Clinton from the Franklin area. He talks about the Macon County Heritage Center at Cowee School and shares details of upcoming musical performances at the center. “Down in Caroline” by Balsam Range follows the interview. On Black Roots of Appalachia, Victoria speaks with Roderick Blaine Davis. They discuss his 33 years of employment at Western Carolina University working at Reid Gym and the water plant. The interview is followed by “Abiding in the Vine” by Betty Brown. On Down Another Road, Judy talks with her mother, Arbie Cook Rhodes. Arbie was a student at Western Carolina in the early 1950s, and she shares some of her memories of what the school was like at the time. “Smoky Mountain Days” by Keith Shuler follows the interview, and “Big Mon” by the Rye Holler Boys closes the show.
