Description
Amy begins with “More Wise Old Sayings,” which continues her recollections of sayings she heard while growing up in the mountains. The story is accompanied by “The Offering.” Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Judy Carpenter of Stecoah. She talks about the history and culture of Swain and Graham Counties and recounts what it was like growing up in Stecoah, experiencing traditional culture in Graham County. The interview is followed by “The Music of the Mountains” by Mountain Faith. On Stories of Mountain Folk Amy once again talks with Junetta Pell and Cheryl Beck in honor of the Jackson County Extension Office’s 100th anniversary. They talk about the programs and activities that have been offered by the office and their work with the community. “Buttermilk Biscuits” by the Company Store follows the interview. On Stories of the Cherokee, Shawn shares the Cherokee story of the creation of man and talks about its relation to the Biblical story of Adam and Eve. Flute music by Bo Taylor a
