Description
The show begins with Amy’s story “Old Time Love Charms,” in which she recounts some traditional sayings about finding your true love. “Try to Remember” by Ron Smith accompanies the story, and it is followed by “Pretty Peggy-O” by Jim Taylor. Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Jenny Johnson, director of the Swain County Center for the Arts, who talks about the work the center does with local artists and how it promotes the arts. “Willard” by Terry Edwards follows the interview. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy talks with Harvey Fouts, who has spent 29 years working in extension work in various counties, the bulk of them in western North Carolina. “High on a Mountain Top” by the Compost Mountain Boys follows the interview. On This Is My Home, Joe hosts Janice Monteith Blanton of Webster, who shares stories about what she and her friend did on Saturdays in Sylva when they were young. “There is a Fountain” by a Southern gospel quartet follows the interview. After This Is My Home, Amy continues her conversation with Harvey Fouts, who talks about some of his accomplishments and achievements as an extension agent. “I’m an Old Cowhand” by the Butterpats follows the interview, and “Boil Them Cabbage Down” by Kort & Beth McCumber ends the show.
