Description

The show begins with another story from Amy’s early married life, “A Body Shop and Diapers.” The background music is “Annie’s Song” played on acoustic guitar. Doreyl interviews Jenny Johnson, former director for the Swain County Center for the Arts. The two discuss the importance of the arts in the community. Jenny also talks about her future plans now that she has retired. The interview is followed by “Lending a Helping Heart” by the Smoky Mountain Boys. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy”s guest is once again Ellen Moss Bryson. Ellen talks about her grandfather, Ferber Moss, a mail carrier in the Glenville area and his wife, Dovie. “The Old Wood Burnin’ Stove” by Home Delivery follows the segment. On Stories of the Cherokee, Shawn shares the second part of his story “Tobacco” and how important tobacco was to the Cherokee people. Flute music by Matthew Tooni follows the story. Judy Rhodes talks again with Jim Holbrook from Arden. They share anecdotes about a number of old cabins on Greasy Cove Road and the colorful people that lived in them. The interview is followed by “Down South” from the Music 2 Hues collection. The show closes with Keith Shuler’s “Running Wolf.”
