In this elevated view of Canton, N.C., railroad tracks may be seen at the center right and prominent mountain peaks in the background. This card was postmarked May 4, 1906, at Canton, N.C., and, May 6, 1907, at Biddeford, Me. In early 1906 construction began on the Champion Fibre Plant at Canton, and in the subsequent years the town experienced a rapid increase in population.
